Product Care Instructions

To help you use siimee products for a long time, we will explain the characteristics of the fabric and how to care for them.

Fabric characteristics

siimee products are made from hand spun and hand woven cotton fabrics.
Compared to machine-spun yarn, it has a looser twist and a softer texture.

It is a short-staple variety of cotton known as Asian cotton, and is difficult to spin into thread unless it is hand-spun. This characteristic is what produces the fluffy thread.

It is highly absorbent and gets softer the more you use it.

Care Instructions

Three rules for washing

1. Hand wash or put in a laundry net and machine wash. <br> Hand-spun yarn is loosely twisted and the fabric is delicate, so it is better to minimize damage during washing in order to maintain the texture.
Wash gently by hand or, if using a washing machine, place inside out in a laundry bag.

2. Use a neutral detergent.
Synthetic detergents and alkaline detergents can damage the texture of the fabric and the natural colors of plant-dyed fabrics.
We recommend additive-free detergents that contain no surfactants and are made from ingredients called "pure soap."

3. Avoid excessive exposure to direct sunlight.
If exposed to strong sunlight for a long period of time, it may discolor.
After washing, we recommend drying in the shade inside out in a well-ventilated area (especially brown cotton and indigo-dyed items).

Precautions for indigo dyed products

Indigo dyed products will fade when you first use them.
The color of the product itself doesn't change much, but the color will appear in the washing water.
Therefore, please wash it separately from light-colored or white items.
Repeated washing will make the color less likely to come out.

About wrinkles

When you first wear a garment, the fabric is still stiff and prone to wrinkles after washing. We recommend using a steam iron to remove any wrinkles.

Repeated washing and wearing will soften the fabric and make wrinkles less noticeable.

About repairs and alterations

At siimee, we want everyone to be able to wear their clothes for a long time, so we also offer repairs and alterations.
Please contact us if the item becomes difficult to wear due to loose seams, fraying, or tears.
The fee will depend on the period of wear and the content of the repair, but please feel free to contact us first.
